exceptional virgin wool yarn inspires collections
the use of "pure new wool" for our fine wool clothing
"pure new wool" is wool from healthy, living sheep raised exclusively for their wool, unlike "wool" from sheep raised for their meat. these sheep are shorn once a year in the spring and only the top cut of the wool, the dorsal part of the animal, is retained.
the choice of merino for a superior fine wool
molli works exclusively with pure new wool from the “merino” breed. these sheep are bred only in australia, tasmania and new zealand. it is a breed of sheep with very abundant fleece from which a very fine, warm and resistant fiber is obtained.
the excellence of Italian spinning mills
the wool used by molli is sorted, checked, washed, combed, dyed, dried, tested and spun in Italian spinning mills that have been experts in spinning for generations and with which molli has been working for years.
fine wool with a cashmere feel
the designation “pure extrafine virgin wool” means that the diameter, also called “micronnage”, of the fibers retained by molli is less than 18.5 microns. this extremely fine micronnage is almost equivalent to the micronnage of cashmere fibers, hence the name "wool with a cashmere touch".
a fiber with multiple benefits
pure extra-fine merino virgin wool is a unique, refined and inimitable fibre, with multiple properties: it is a 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable material. it is also resistant to wrinkles, odors, stains, and is hypoallergenic. it is an excellent thermal regulator and is therefore particularly suitable for toddlers.
