Fanny Boucher, founder of the jewellery brand Bangla Begum, met with us to share her passion for jewellery making and her wonderfully colourful world.

Can you describe yourself in 3 words?
Ambitious, generous, nerd.
Do you have a project you'd like to share with us?
The Bangla Begum workshop, right in the heart of Belleville, is my favorite project. We now make almost all of our jewelry ourselves, and we're constantly experimenting.
A word you love to hear?
I really love fatafat, which means immediately in Urdu. Also filfil in Arabic (pepper, plural falafel!!). In Italian, I particularly like morbido (soft). Ok I'll stop there.
One thing nobody knows about you?
I'm a Bayern Munich supporter. Sorry. Now the info is public.
What's your best grandmother's secret?
My grandmother used to say that a talent left unused is a sin.
A moment you'd like to relive again and again?
The full Moon right before the opening of the first Bukhara Biennial, in Uzbekistan.
The biggest mistake you made as a child?
I broke a door to go to a nightclub.
What's your book of the moment?
The one I'm trying… to write!?
How do you feel when you wear fine-knit accessories or clothing?
Feminine.
